2-Stroke Carbureted and Fuel Injected Outboard Preventative Maintenance and Annual Service Package



Services Performed Annually or Every 100 Hours:

  • Visually inspect engine
  • Test compression
  • Inspect ignition components
  • Test ignition and charging system output
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Change gear lube
  • Grease all lubrication points and prop shaft
  • Inspect fuel system
  • Clean/replace fuel filter(s)(most models)
  • Check cooling system operation
  • Check/adjust carburetors as needed
  • De-carbon combustion chamber with engine tuner
  • Check/adjust shift and throttle cables
  • Coat powerhead with corrosion guard
  • Inspect trailer
  • Test trailer brakes (where applicable)
  • Lube bearing buddies if needed
  • Inflate tires
  • Check the tightness of bolts, nuts, and other fasteners
  • Make sure the battery is the proper size, and is not using wing nuts to secure the battery cables
  • Check wiring and connectors
  • Test accessories
  • Check corrosion control anodes
  • Access ECM for codes(where applicable).
  • Test run engine on hose

4-Stroke Outboard Preventative Maintenance

Services Performed Annually or Every 100 Hours: (Not Including Verado)

  • Visually inspect engine
  • Test compression
  • Inspect ignition components
  • Test ignition and charging system output
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Change gear lube
  • Grease all lubrication points and prop shaft
  • Inspect fuel system
  • Clean/replace fuel filter(s) (most models)
  • Check cooling system operation
  • Check/adjust carburetors (where applicable)
  • Check/adjust shift and throttle cables (where applicable)
  • Coat powerhead with corrosion guard
  • Inspect trailer
  • Test trailer brakes (where applicable)
  • Lube bearing buddies if needed
  • Inflate tires
  • Inspect battery for proper size and remove wing nuts if equipped
  • Change engine oil and filter(some models do not have an oil filter)
  • Test accessories
  • Access ECM for codes (where applicable)
  • Check steering fluid (where applicable)
  • Check wiring and connectors
  • Check the tightness of bolts, nuts, and other fasteners
  • Check corrosion control anodes.
  • Run and check on hose

Mercury OptiMax Preventative Maintenance

Services Performed Annually or Every 100 Hours:

  • Visually inspect engine
  • Test compression
  • Inspect ignition components and spark plugs
  • Change gear lube
  • Grease all lubrication points and prop shaft
  • Inspect fuel system
  • Replace fuel filter (s)
  • Check cooling system operation
  • Check/adjust shift and throttle cables (where applicable)
  • Coat powerhead with corrosion guard
  • Inspect trailer
  • Test trailer brakes (where applicable)
  • Lube bearing buddies if needed
  • Inflate tires – Inspect charging system
  • Make sure the battery is the proper size and is not using wing nuts to secure the battery cables
  • Test accessories
  • Check corrosion control anodes
  • Check wiring and connectors
  • Check the tightness of bolts, nuts, and other fasteners
  • Access ECM for codes and the number of hours on the motor
  • Replace compressor air intake filter
  • Check steering fluid (where applicable)
  • Run and check on hose

Services Performed Every Three Years Or Every 300 Hours:

  • All 100 hour service points, and additionally the following:
  • Replace water pump impeller
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Replace the alternator and air compressor drive belt
  • Replace the two in-line oil filters in the air compressor oil return

MERCURY VERADO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

SERVICES PERFORMED ANNUALLY OR EVERY 100 HOURS:

  • Visually inspect engine
  • Test compression
  • Inspect ignition components and spark plugs
  • Change gear lube
  • Grease all lubrication points and prop shaft
  • Inspect fuel system and replace fuel filter(s)
  • Check cooling system operation
  • Visually inspect thermostat for corrosion and/or a broken spring.
  • Make sure thermostat closes at room temp
  • Check/adjust shift and throttle cables (where applicable)
  • Coat powerhead with corrosion guard
  • Inspect trailer
  • Test trailer brakes (where applicable)
  • Lube bearing buddies if needed
  • Inflate tires
  • Inspect charging system
  • Verify correct battery size and cable fasteners
  • Change engine oil and filter
  • Test accessories
  • Check power steering fluid (where applicable)
  • Check corrosion control anodes
  • Check wiring and connectors
  • Check tightness of bolts, nuts, and other fasteners
  • Access ECM for codes, and engine hours
  • Run and check on hose

SERVICES PERFORMED EVERY THREE YEARS OR EVERY 300 HOURS:

  • All 100 hour service points, and additionally the following:
  • Replace water pump impeller
  • Replace High-Pressure in-line fuel filter
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Replace accessory drive belt
  • Replace air filter

  • Change engine oil and filter

Tune-Up Special (Fuel System and Ignition)


  • Replace points & condenser (where applicable), distributor cap, rotor, and spark plugs.
  • Set dwell and timing
  • Adjust carburetor as needed
  • Check shift and throttle cable operation and make adjustments as needed
  • Run and check on hose

Sterndrive Service

  • Includes removal of the drive unit
  • Shift cable inspection
  • U-joint, shift and exhaust bellows inspection
  • Check engine alignment
  • Grease gimbal bearing, U-joints, and shift mechanism
  • Run and check on hose

Sterndrive Preventative Maintenance Annual Service Package

  • Replace spark plugs
  • Replace distributor cap/rotor (Electronic Ignition models) plus points/condenser (conventional ignition models)
  • Set dwell and timing (where applicable)
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Clean flame arrestor
  • Change engine oil and filter
  • Change drive oil
  • Lube drive (charge for drive removal)
  • Lube prop shaft
  • Inspect prop shaft seals
  • Coat motor with corrosion guard
  • Check blower operation


*Additional charge for M/C Bravo, Volvo SX, and OMC Cobra drives

  •    Check instrument operation
  •    Check cooling system operation

2-Cycle DFI Models

  •   Visually inspect engine.
  •   Test compression (depending on accessibility).
  •   Inspect ignition components.
  •   Test ignition and charging system output.
  •   Replace spark plugs if needed.
  •   Clean and regap spark plugs if needed.
  •   Change oil in engine, stator, and drive unit.
  •   Inspect fuel system.
  •   Clean/replace fuel filter (most models).
  •   Replace air filter (DFI model).
  •   Check cooling system operation.

  •    De-carbon combustion chamber with engine tuner, if applicable.
  •    Check/adjust shift and throttle cables.
  •    Coat powerhead with corrosion guard.
  •    Inspect trailer.
  •    Lube bearing buddies if needed.
  •    Inspect drive belt and tension.
  •    Test charging system and battery.
  •    Inspect accessories.
  •    Lubricate drive shaft bearing.
  •    Inspect jet pump impeller and liner.
  •    Water test to verify proper performance under load.

Carbureted and EFI Models

  • Visually inspect engine.
  • Test compression.
  • Inspect ignition components.
  • Check ignition and charging system output.
  • Replace spark plugs.
  • Change oil in engine, stator, and drive unit.
  • Inspect fuel system.
  • Clean/replace fuel filter (most models).
  • Check cooling system operation.
  • Check/adjust carburetors as needed.
  • De-carbon combustion chamber with engine tuner, if applicable.
  • Check/adjust shift and throttle cables.
  • Coat powerhead with corrosion guard.
  • Inspect trailer.
  • Lube bearing buddies if needed.
  • Check trailer tires for proper pressure and wear.
  • Lubricate drive shaft bearing.
  • Inspect jet pump impeller and liner.
  • Water test to verify proper performance under load.

Inboard Jet Maintenance Service

  • Replace spark plugs
  • Replace distributor cap/rotor (electronic ignition models) plus points/condenser (conventional ignition models)
  • Set dwell and timing (where applicable)
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Clean flame arrestor
  • Change engine oil and filter
  • Lube jet drive
  • Inspect jet pump impeller and liner
  • Coat motor with corrosion guard
  • Check engine compartment ventilation blower operation
  •   Check instrument operation
  •   Check cooling system operation
  •   Check trim system operation
  •   Inspect engine drive belts
  •   Check navigation lights
  •   Inspect anodes
  •   Check wheel bearings
  •   Grease Bearing Buddies (if needed)
  •   Inspect boat winch and tongue jack
  •   Run and check on hose


Trailer Service

Wheel bearing service includes replacement of all bearings, races, seals and Bearing Buddies

Pricing is based on wheel size and number of axles. 


*Extra labor charge for axles with disc brakes


Trailer brake service includes replacing drums/discs, bearings, seals, brake lines, coupler/actuator, backing plates/calipers, Bearing Buddies, bleeding the system, and road test.

*If the spindle seal surface requires repair, a speedi-sleeve will be installed for an extra charge.

Pricing is based on lug count (5 or 6 lug), number of axles, and type of brake system.

We can install swing-away hinges for the trailer tongue, tongue jacks, guide bunks, trailer electrical systems and lighting, winches and winch straps.
